Study Group runs two Academy school programmes in the UK; Embassy Summer and Embassy Summer Academy.  Embassy Summer Academy is an elite summer school offering professional sports, creative and academic tuition alongside English language lessons. 
 
Our Courses
 
Students who attend our summer school courses receive a combination of English language and a comprehensive programme of activities and excursions.  The activity programme will include daytime and evening activities and one half-day and two full day excursion per week.     
As an exclusive boarding school, most students will take part in specialist courses where they receive English language lessons plus extra instruction in their chosen programme.  The courses that we offer include Multi-Activities, Elite-Football, Golf, Horse Riding, Tennis, Art and Design, Dance, Sailing, Outdoor Adventures, Intensive English and Summer academic Study. Summer Academic Study is a Non EFL multiple subject course for Intermediate level Students.

Job Purpose:

To deliver academic EFL tuition appropriate to a summer school environment, ensure that non-teaching tasks are completed smoothly, and prepare and lead activities and excursions as directed

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure academic EFL tuition is appropriate to a summer school environment under the direction of the Director of Studies
  • To maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare
  • To assist with placement tests
  • To ensure weekly paperwork is completed (lesson plans, reports and certificates)
  • To attend all relevant meetings
  • To prepare and lead designated activities & excursions as directed by the Activity Manager
  • To carry out residential duties, including meal, bedtime and night time supervision duties
  • Promoting and Safeguarding the welfare of students for who you are responsible for and with whom you come into contact with.
  • Maximise student and group leader satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds their expectations
  • Play an active role in the development of student’s life skills throughout their Embassy experience

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Qualifications & Training

  • First Degree or equivalent  (Level 6 Qualifications and Credit Framework) (Essential)
  • TEFL certification (CELTA/Trinity TESOL or equivalent) (Essential)

Experience Required:

  • Experience of working with minors (Desirable)
  • Summer School and/or Boarding School experience (Desirable)
  • Experience of continuous enrolment  (Desirable)
  • Residential work experience  (Desirable)

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent multi-tasking ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Highly numerate, with an eye for detail

Remuneration:

Weekly pay for an Academy EFL Teacher is £370 p/week
Your pay is broken down as Basic Pay + Holiday Pay (Your holiday pay will be paid fortnightly)
A deduction of £40 p/week will be made for accommodation for residential staff
